Dr. Soo-Woo Kim is currently a lecturer and previously served as a Pre-doctoral program director and a post-doctoral program faculty in periodontology at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He graduated with bachelor of science in biochemistry from University of California, Riverside. He then pursued his master of science degree in bioengineering at University of California, Los Angeles. With an influence of his academic mentors, he received his dentistry and periodontology training at Harvard School of Dental Medicine received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree and his periodontology training from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He finished his Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) in oral biology. He was selected as a Presidential Scholar from Harvard University during his post-doctoral education and research fellow and is a recipient of AAP Educator Award from the American Academy of Periodontology and Young Investigator Award from the International Association of Dental Research. With his backgrounds in biochemistry and engineering, Dr. Kim is actively engaged in research for the development of ideal hard and soft tissue grafting materials. He has multiple publications including peer-reviewed journals and book chapters.
